WOMEX is the most important ‘world music” festival in the world, according to UNESCO. It includes world music, folk, ethnic, traditional, alternative and music of the diaspora.

WOMEX has been held for 19 occasions around Europe (in cities such as Stockholm, Rotterdam, Seville, Copenhagen, Thessaloniki or Cardiff). The 20 Compostela, from the 22 the show.

WOMEX 14 will take place in two spaces architectonically and culturally unique: the historic city of Compostela and the city of Culture:

• Womex Day: Tradefair, films, awards, conferences, networking... This professional festival brings together more than 2000 representatives in the precincts of the spectacular Gaiás Centre Museum of the City of Culture.
• Womex Night: DK Summit and Showcases. The 60 showcases celebrated during the three nights of WOMEX will be distributed in different areas and plazas of the historic city of Santiago de Compostela: Quintana’s Square, Teatro Principal, Salón Teatro, ABanca Auditory and Sala Capitol.
